Wash the oranges, dry them, and remove the zest with a sharp peeler or knife, being careful not to remove the white pith. Place the orange zest in a large, airtight jar. Add the cinnamon, vanilla extract (cut lengthwise), and cardamom to the jar. Pour in the vodka and close the lid. Let it sit in a dark place for a week, shaking the jar daily. After this time, dilute the sugar with 1/1 liter of boiling water. Pour the syrup into the jar with the gin and flavorings, close the jar, and let it sit in a dark place for another week, shaking daily. After this second week, once the maceration is complete, strain the liqueur through a cheesecloth-lined sieve, pour it into four half-liter bottles, and cork them. To finish making the spiced orange liqueur, insert a small cinnamon stick into each bottle, close them with new corks, and label them.
