Christmas Star

Step 1

Mix well with the heat of your hands a little gum paste: create a small ball and roll it out with a rolling pin over the special channel of the work surface for flowers; in this way you will already have the space to insert the wire.

Step 2

Lift the dough, move it gently and place it on the work surface.

Step 3

Cut the petal with the long leaf cutter of the kit so that the channel obtained is perfectly in the center.

Step 4

Gently insert the underwire No. 26 of the color you prefer.

Step 5

To create realistic effects, use the silicone vein, placing the opaque part downwards and the transparent one upwards. Apply gentle pressure and lift gently. Remove the leaf, place it on the rigid modeling sponge and curl the edges with the ball tool.

Step 6

Model the leaf obtained with your hands, bringing the corners towards the center in order to obtain a concave shape.

Step 7

Leave to dry for at least a day in the special petal drying tray and repeat the same steps to make all the leaves and petals.

Step 8

To make the poinsettia you will need 3 small, 5 medium, 7 large and 7 leaves petals. Use gel food coloring to color the gum paste. Now proceed to the assembly of the Christmas Star.

Step 9

To make the center of the star attach the pistils of the desired color to the iron wire using a strip of adhesive tape for flowers. Fold the underwire into an "L" shape. Take the center with the pistils and attach the first petal with tape. Proceed in the same way one petal at a time. Once the small petals are finished, continue attaching the medium size petals and finally the large ones.

Step 9

Finish the flower by assembling the leaves. You can join several Stars together to make a pretty bouquet of Christmas gum paste flowers using colored flower ribbon.
