Step 1

Whip the butter with the sugar inside the mixer for about 10 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, the sifted salt, flour and baking powder. Finally add the aroma. Pour the dough into the mold and bake at 170 ° for about 35 minutes. Remove from the oven, leave to cool and fill the cake with the spreadable cream. You can use royal icing or the same spreadable cream to "fill" the outside of the cake so as to cover it with the sugar paste.

Step 2

How to divide the cake into equal parts using the compass and the mat

First of all, let's learn how to divide the cake into equal sections, you will need this for all subsequent uses of the kit. The kit allows you to divide cakes up to 60 cm in diameter or side into equal sections. You can divide the cake from 4 to 16 equal portions. Measure with the compass the diameter of your cake and use the line drawn on the mat to get the measurement in cm.

Now take the diameter of your cake as a reference starting from the numbers drawn on the mat and decide in equal quantities you want to divide it (into four sections 1: 4, into nine sections 1: 9 up to sixteen sections 1:16). The colors and cross lines will help you in your choice. Place the compass on the section you have identified and take the measurement by enlarging or tightening the temples. Lock the amplitude by screwing the wheel.

Step 3

Based on the type of decoration you want to make, slightly mark the top edge, the sides and / or the base of the cake with the tips of the temples; in this way you will have the reference points that will allow you to divide the cake into equal parts.

These points are references for the various operations you can do with the kit:

- allow you to position and / or create decorasymmetric actions;

- allow you to make festoons, garlands and decoraperfect tions;

- allow you to cut all the same slices.

Step 4

Making perfect garlands and swags

For this application you will need to use one of the three cable ties supplied in the kit. (We supply the other two as spare parts).

Define the width of the garland or festoon you want to make by applying the clamp to the compass with the different holes available, so as to increase or decrease its size.

Bring the compass close to the cake, position the band near the edge you want decorareed presses lightly so as to impress the dots.

Repeat the operation for all the sections in which you have divided the cake so as to mark the guidelines to follow to make decoraperfect tions!

Place decorasymmetric actions

Once you have marked the sections on the cake, position and create decoraperfectly symmetrical!
